I am writing to formally share my experience and raise concerns regarding my recent hair transplant procedure, which took place on 1st October at your clinic in Istanbul. While certain aspects of the service were satisfactory, several issues arose before, during, and after the procedure that have left me disappointed with the overall experience.
Upon my arrival at Istanbul Airport, there were no clear instructions or signs indicating how to meet the driver arranged to transport me to the hotel. I had to reach out personally before a video was sent to guide me. I would like to commend the driver, who was courteous and very helpful throughout the transfer process.
The accommodation provided as part of the package was at Golden Way Hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel did not meet the expected standard. My first room had a very stuffy odour, prompting me to request a change. Although this was arranged quickly, the second room contained mosquitoes. Additionally, I discovered that the air conditioning had been switched off, and when I enquired at reception, I was informed that it was turned off for no specific reason. The breakfast offered was also below standard and not as advertised.
On the day of my surgery, 1st October, the driver arrived on time to take me to the clinic. I was met by Umaema, the English translator, who explained the process thoroughly and provided helpful assistance throughout the day. However, the discussion regarding sedation felt more like a sales tactic rather than a medical recommendation, which made me uncomfortable.
The technician who drew my hairline made two attempts before we reached an agreement on the final design. Unfortunately, after the donor area was harvested, the initial markings were wiped off. I must acknowledge that the surgical team responsible for harvesting and implanting was professional, kind, and attentive, and they ensured I was given food during the lengthy procedure, which lasted nearly eight hours.
However, when the technician returned to redraw the hairline, I was in significant pain and exhaustion, making it difficult for me to verify if the new hairline matched what we had initially agreed upon. After the procedure, the driver kindly waited for me to have dinner before taking me back to the hotel.
In the days following the procedure, I noticed that my hairline did not align with the agreed design. When I raised this concern, I was told the swelling would subside and that the hairline would settle into its proper position. It has now been almost two weeks, and the hairline remains noticeably different from the initial plan. Despite communicating my dissatisfaction, I have received unclear and evasive responses, with no acceptance of responsibility or meaningful resolution offered.
I am hopeful that, as healing progresses over the next several months (estimated 8–9 months for the donor area recovery), the outcome may improve. However, I believe it is important to document and address these concerns now to ensure better communication, transparency, and accountability for future clients.
