Coming from Zimbabwe, where opportunities for hands-on aesthetic surgery training are rare, I consider it a true honour to have been mentored by Dr. Akin Yücel through the ISAPS Mentorship Programme. Under his guidance, I learned far more than surgical steps — I gained a deep understanding of the principles behind achieving beautiful, natural, and long-lasting results in breast aesthetics. Whether it was performing mastopexy or selecting and placing breast implants with precision, Dr. Yücel was incredibly thorough, patient, and intentional in everything he taught. What struck me most was his ability to combine surgical artistry with deep empathy for his patients. I have had the privilege of undergoing multiple surgeries with the incredibly talented Prof. Dr. Akin, and I cannot recommend him enough. My first experience with him was in 2004 when he performed a whole-body liposuction and breast implant surgery under the muscle, which took a total of 5.5 hours. The results were flawless, and there were absolutely no complications. I was so impressed by his skill, professionalism, and attention to details so I returned for additional procedures later on. Dr. Akin performed a nose job (rhinoplasty) and another liposuction to further shape my body, and once again, the results exceeded my expectations. Dr. Akin is truly a master of his craft. His knowledge, experience, and dedication to his patients are unparalleled, making him one of the top surgeons in the country. Not only does he provide exceptional results, but his gentle and caring demeanor makes you feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the entire process.
