I honestly don’t even know where to start. I’m writing this the day before my birthday, and instead of feeling excited, I’m sitting here feeling annoyed, stressed, and completely self-conscious about my smile all because of the treatment I received at Dentleon.
I came to Turkey for composite bonding and was promised a 2-day procedure. Instead, I ended up in their chair for 5 days in a row, and the only reason I even had that much access is because my partner was having crowns done too. Every day was another attempt to “fix” something they had done wrong the day before. Five consecutive days wasted. Five days of hope, frustration, and embarrassment and after all of that, my teeth are still a disaster.
I paid £1,800 for 20 bonded teeth, and almost half of them are so thin and translucent you can literally see my natural yellow through them. I did enquire initially for teeth whitening too and was told during the consultation they’d discuss my options. This was never mentioned again. The shapes are inconsistent, the finish is dull, and the final polish actually made things worse. It looks nothing like what they advertise. It looks nothing like a professional treatment. I’m devastated.
I complained multiple times which I never do and I was still made to feel like the teeth were fine even though they altered it everyday! Being looked at like I was a problem, being talked about in a language I couldn’t understand while sitting there helpless, being made to feel like I’m overreacting when I asked for the composite to just be removed… it was humiliating. This is my FACE. My smile. And I felt too embarrassed to complain again in the clinic at the end, even though I was leaving with teeth I’m ashamed of. The fact that they were happy with the results is shocking to me. Only one member of staff privately said they felt sorry for how my teeth had turned out.
After leaving the clinic, I went to a reputable dentist who confirmed exactly what I feared: the work was done incorrectly and needs to be redone. I had to spend another £500 just to make my teeth barely bearable. And let me be clear they are STILL an epic fail. That £500 wasn’t to fix the problem, it was just damage control.
And when I asked Dentleon for a fair refund? They offered me £250. Out of £1,800. £250 for a week of stress, disappointment, and teeth I now feel too ashamed to smile with. Talking about that included transfers and hotel. My partner paid in full and we shared room and rides to and from the clinic. £1,800 is over 100,000TL. The end product does NOT reflect the price.
I’m leaving Turkey today, and instead of feeling confident and happy after an expensive cosmetic procedure, I’m miserable and embarrassed. I’m spending my birthday tomorrow trying not to cry about my teeth. This whole experience has been a nightmare. I trusted Dentleon with my smile, and I regret it every single day.
I hope this review stops at least one other person from going through what I’ve had to go through
I recently travelled to Izmir for dental treatment with Dentleon, where I had 20 zirconium crowns (10 upper, 10 lower) completed. While I am satisfied with the final result, the overall experience had several areas that could be improved.
Arrival and Transfers
Upon arriving at Izmir Airport, I waited around 30 minutes before my transfer. I was told to meet at a nearby café, but no one was there when I arrived. After walking around several times, I eventually located a driver holding my name. Transfers to and from the clinic were generally late by about 30 minutes each time, which added some unnecessary stress.
Accommodation – Kordon Hotel
I stayed at the Kordon Hotel for six nights. The hotel looks much better in photos than in reality. The room was small but clean enough, and while breakfast was included, I only tried it once as it was very poor. The hotel advertised a gym, but it was extremely basic — I have better equipment at home.
Staff at the hotel spoke very limited English, which made communication difficult even for simple requests. The location, however, was convenient, with enough nearby options for food and drinks. As in many tourist areas, it’s worth being cautious about scams or overcharging.
Dental Treatment – Dentleon
The treatment process was quite intense and somewhat rushed. You definitely don't feel valued, and more like a number waiting in line, as they turnover these treatments like being at a supermarket checkout. Upon arrival, there was little explanation of what would happen, so I had to ask many questions to feel informed. Given the scale of this kind of dental work, clearer guidance and reassurance would have gone a long way. Every day, you had no idea what was happening, and you'd be waiting for text to say when your next appointment would be. Nothing about what was happening, or what the plan was.
The process required three visits to the clinic. After my teeth were shaved down on the first visit, I was left with exposed teeth for over 30 hours, and I was not informed as to how long this would be for. As you can imagine, having your teeth shaved down caused extreme sensitivity and made eating impossible until the temporary crowns were fitted on the second visit, along with some root canals that I was advised needed doing so I took their word for it.
On my third visit, there was a power cut that delayed my appointment for several hours, but eventually, my permanent crowns were fitted, and I was happy enough with the result. My dentist herself was very good and worked with care and attention — I just wish I had her name to acknowledge her properly.
Aftercare and Administration
I had requested an invoice/receipt for the work I had done, and before-treatment photos several times, which I eventually got but took much longer than it should have. They were quick to take the full payment for the treatment upfront before any works started. Communication before and after the procedure definitely needs improving.
Positives
Final results are good, and I’m happy with the current outcome as I write this review, however it is still very early.
My treating dentist was skilled and professional.
Negatives
Disorganised transfers and poor communication.
Hotel facilities, especially the breakfast and gym.
Limited English spoken by hotel staff.
Lack of clear guidance throughout the process.
Several requests made regarding an invoice/receipt, and before photos (eventually received).
Overall Impression
While I am happy with my smile, there are several areas that need improvement — particularly communication, organisation, and accommodation standards. The real test will be how the clinic handles any issues that arise in the future. After a call from the manager of this clinic, I have been reassured that they will take on any issue's that should arise after treatment.
Treatment Date: 27th October - 1st November
I went to get my broken tooth repaired today after reading rave reviews on Google. What a great experience I had!! Dr Ahmed did the procedure, he was very informative, professional & efficient. He made me feel very comfortable. His assistant Melis, was so kind & helpful & both of them spoke perfect English. The location was lovely, clean & modern.
I am so glad I went there. I would recommend them 100% for sure
Thank you from one very happy new customer!! 😊
