I've had a small sore on my ear for about a year. This summer, due to excessive sun exposure during the extreme heat, the sore started to enlarge. I saw a dermatologist twice, and both times, they treated me with different creams. Unfortunately, it didn't go away. A friend who had previously experienced skin cancer suggested that it might be a type of tumor and therefore needed to be removed. After a brief online research, I first consulted a general surgeon. However, because the tumor was located on my ear, I thought it would require a delicate procedure, so I decided to see a plastic surgeon and made an appointment with Dr. Özlem. She quickly diagnosed Basal Cell Carcinoma. Her confident and reassuring demeanor helped me make a quick decision. Within a week, a biopsy and surgery were scheduled. After the successful intervention, the surgery left a small, almost imperceptible scar on my ear. I owe her a debt of gratitude for being a good doctor and a good person.

My 6-year-old son, injured in a bicycle accident, and I went to Medicana Hospital through the emergency room on Saturday. He had facial injuries. He was dressed, prescribed medication, and told he absolutely needed a plastic surgeon for his recovery. On Monday, I went to the hospital with a plastic surgery appointment at Medicana, but Prof. Dr. A. Özlem Gündeşlioğlu refused to see us. Through her assistant, she said she wouldn't see us. We were told we couldn't be seen because she had previously seen another doctor (Medicana's own emergency doctor). The appointment I made under the direction of one of the hospital's doctors was rejected by the other doctor. This happened to my son, who I carried around with a bandage on his face. This attitude of neither the doctor nor the hospital is acceptable. You can't start and continue treatment at the same hospital.
